notebook
As a preschool teacher, I’ve been blessed to receive many gifts. By that I mean the joy of seeing a child running to class as soon as the school gate opens. Or when students bring me donuts from the play kitchen because they know how much I love them. Or the spontaneous way children get up at Circle Time to give me a hug. These are my favorite and most cherished parts of being a preschool teacher. They are also the reason why I cry (multiple times) on the last day of each and every school year.
As teachers, we also receive gifts in the form of cups, chocolates, and coffee gift cards. But you might be surprised to know that notebooks are a part of that list too. I currently have 10 that I have received as gifts. They range from pocket-sized to personalized to one with panda eyes.
I’ve been slowly filling in the pages of each notebook. There’s one for quotes I’ve stumbled upon. Another for goals, and one for to-do lists in reaching those goals. I like to make lists - it makes me feel more organized and less anxious 😌.
A few notebooks keep moments that I want to remember - ones that make me smile and am grateful for … like when my nephew was baptized (April 23, 2016) or seeing both snow and a full rainbow on Valentine’s Day (2018).
I use another notebook as a journal while I learn Sacred Story prayer - I’m currently on week 19 of 40 weeks.
And that panda eyed notebook … that one is for collecting all of the different hashtags I use or plan to use on Instagram 😉
I have just one notebook that is still blank. Any ideas or suggestions for what I might fill it with?
